Native German speaker – brought up and educated in Germany • 20+ years of experience in translating corporate material and product material in the fields of optics, consumer electronics, computer hardware and software, image processing, and others • 10+ years of experience in planning, design, layout, typography, printing • Localization of help files • Accomplished desktop publisher – InDesign, QuarkXPress, and PageMaker • Creation and localization of HTML documents • Proficiency in Sun JAVA • Member of the American Translators Association (Certification English—German), the National Capital Area Translators Association (membership chair for 2 terms and webmaster), the Mid-America Chapter of ATA (director for 2 terms), and the Society for Technical Communication • Very strong in easy-to-understand translations of complex material for end-users.
